One more nice review to add to the mix. This review originally appeared in the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, although it is not presently available on their web site. The article discusses several books; mine is the third one down.
The review concludes by saying: "The riveting 'A Cure for Night' should be the beginning of a long career for Peacock." Here's hoping! One of the things you quickly realize after selling a first novel is that rather than having reached the finish line, you've actually only reached the starting gate. The transition from being an unpublished writer trying to get that elusive first book deal, to being a published writer trying to build an actual writing career, is probably worth its own post.
So my first week as a published novelist was fairly eventful. I'm thrilled with the critical response the book is getting so far. I'm expecting at least one major publication to weigh in next week. I'm also hoping to have some additional news to report in the coming days, but I'm not going to jinx it by saying more than that. Stay tuned!
